Welcome to RayLee Heart!

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME - RAYLEE HEART

My name is Mindy Lee George and I am a children's author out of Nova Scotia, Canada. I wanted a unique name for my website - one that meant something to ME. After much thought (and a little help from my fellow writing friend, Lynn), I have settled with RayLee Heart and here's why.

My brother, Raymond, meant the world to me. He was my big brother, my protector. Unfortunately I didn't have long with him as he passed away from injuries from an auto accident at the age of 18; when I was just 8 years old. Therefore, to honour him and to continue to keep his memory alive I've used some of his name with a little of my own name to create the first word - RayLee.

For as long as I can remember, through the good, the bad, the happy and sad...and well, even the ugly I supposed, I've been known to wear my heart on my sleeve. Many people, to this day, still tell me I have a huge heart, hence the word HEART! Thus - RayLee Heart was established. So - in saying that - I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my site where you can browse my children's books, some of my graphic design work along with the stained glass pieces I have created.

Thank you for stopping by!

WHAT'S NEW!!!

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...

1.     The writing group I am part of, we often do writing challenges. One of the last challenges was to write a story from my youth. I chose a memory from when I was 5-6 years old about a day I set out to find ladybugs. The story not only had to be based on an actually memory, it also had to be 635 words...EXACTLY! Mission accomplished! Hence my new story coming in Spring of 2026. It is called, 'The Day Mr. Sunny Chose Me'. Words are written, breakdown is complete, illustrations have begun. So...keep an eye out for this fun, bubbly story about this little girls adventure in her own backyard with Mr. Sunny and her new ladybug friends! Coming Spring of 2026.

2.      I have taken my collection of poems I've written over my entire life and gathered them into 'A Quiet Kind of Brave'. This book holds a real sense of personal history and        emotional evolution. It is not only a collection of poetry, but a lived journey on every page. This will be released in early 2026.

3.     I have just finished writing a story about my two Shih Tzu's, Tux and Ollie. These brothers spend their days chasing tails, sharing naps, and playing with their favorite toys. When Ollie loses his most treasured squeaky toy, Tux goes on a simple search that turns into an unbelievable adventure! I have an illustrator lined up for this one and am aiming to have this released in early fall of 2026.
